Kalamazoo Receives Forward Alexandre Grenier from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, three-time defending North Division Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks, and American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves announce that forward Alexandre Grenier has been reassigned to the K-Wings by the Wolves.

A first-year pro, Grenier joins the K-Wings after starting the season in Austria with Salzburg. Grenier was a 3rd round (90th overall) selection of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

In juniors, Grenier was the second leading scorer for the Halifax Mooseheads notching 64 points (25 goals, 39 assists) in 64 games.

In separate transactions, forward Eric Kattelus has signed an AHL contract with the Wolves and will join the team in their upcoming trip to play the Abbotsford Heat, while defenseman Adam Polasek will accompany Kattelus, as he has been reassigned Vancouver to Chicago.

The K-Wings leading scorer with 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists), Kattelus is third-year pro playing in his second season with the K-Wings. The Traverse City, Michigan native also leads Kalamazoo in power-play goals (5) and shares the team-lead in game-winning goals (2), as well as shorthanded goals (1).

A second-year pro, Polasek has earned eight points (4 goal, 4 assist) in 34 games with the K-Wings.   

By heading to Chicago, Kattelus and Polasek become the sixth and seventh members of the K-Wings to be either reassigned or loaned to an AHL club. 

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium this Wednesday, January 9th with a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Reading Royals.

Wednesday night will be WRKR Holiday Hangover and $5 Pack the House Night. For an additional $10, fans can turn their tickets to all-you-can seats. Wings Stadium will have a delicious buffet featuring hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, Sloppy Joes, K-Wings boneless wings, French Fries, random desserts and refreshing Pepsi products.

Single-game tickets for the 2012-2013 season are on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday’s.  To charge tickets by phone, please call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000.

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 14 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year’s Eve game) are just $1 more. 

Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance because tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
