Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, three-time defending North Division Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks, and American Hockey League’s Chicago Wolves announce the team’s annual media luncheon will be held Wednesday, October 10^th at 12 p.m. at Old Burdick’s Wings West.

The media luncheon will be the first opportunity for all members of the media and fans to meet the 2012-13 Kalamazoo Wings. This luncheon is the perfect opportunity to get ready for the season by talking with the K-Wing players and Nick Bootland, director of hockey operations and head coach, before the team commences their 39^th season of professional hockey in southwest Michigan.

Old Burdick’s Wings West overlooks the Borgess Health Ice Rink and is also the home of K-Wings Live, the monthly radio show that can be heard on 92.5 FM WZUU. The media luncheon starts at 12 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to arrive early.

The media luncheon is open to the general public provided fans purchase from the many delicious choices on Old Burdick’s menu.    

The K-Wings will get their first taste of preseason game action on Friday, October 5^th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off at Borgess Rink at Wings West, which is located on 5076 Sports Drive off of 9^th Street in Kalamazoo, versus the Toledo Walleye.  

Tickets for the game will be $5 general admission and only available at the door. Fans can also watch the game from Old Burdick’s Wings West for an additional charge of $5. All K-Wings season ticket holders will receive a FREE ticket to the October 5^th matchup; however, any season ticket holder that wishes to watch the game from Old Burdick’s will have a cost of $5.

The game was moved to Wings West two weeks ago after Stadium Management Co. announced plans for a two-million dollar renovation to Wings Stadium, which will be completed in time for the K-Wings home opener on Friday, October 19^th versus long-time rival, the Fort Wayne Komets.  

The K-Wings and Walleye will meet again on Saturday, October 6^th for a 9 p.m. encounter at the Huntington Center in Toledo. 

Fans that can’t make it to either preseason game, can still listen to both contests on the radio or online. Both preseason clashes can be heard live at 92.5 WZUU or at kwings.com starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Kalsee Credit Union Pregame Show.

Single-game and season tickets for the upcoming 2012-2013 season are on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday’s.  To charge tickets by phone, please call Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000

Tickets for all K-Wings home games are $13 and $17.50 for adults and only $7 for kids ages 14 and under. The price for all K-Wings premium night games (all colored ice games and New Year’s Eve game) are just $1 more.

Fans can save money by purchasing K-Wings single-game tickets in advance because tickets purchased on the day of a game increase by $2 (adults only).
