Game Preview For the second time in less than 24 hours, the Kalamazoo Wings will lace up their skates against the Elmira Jackals. Kalamazoo defeated Elmira last night 2-1 in a shootout. On the season, K-Wings are 2-1-0-0 versus the Jackals, including a record of 2-0-0-0 at the First Arena.
Besides ending a five-game road swing, this afternoon will close out the month of February for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo is 8-3-0-0 in the month and has gone 3-1-0-0 during their current road trip. With 59 points, Kalamazoo trails Elmira by four points for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Unbeaten in regulation (2-0-0-1) in their last three games, the last time the Jackals lost in three periods at the First Arena was back on February 8th with a 5-3 setback to the K-Wings. Elmira trails the South Carolina Stingrays by two points for seventh place in the conference

My Favorite Martin Joel Martin recorded 45 saves in last night’s 2-1 shootout victory over Elmira. In three games against the Jackals, Martin in 2-1-0-0 stopping 129 of the 135 shots he has faced.
Killing Time Kalamazoo's penalty killing has reached playoff form. Dating back to the third period of their game against the Trenton Titans on February 14th, the K-Wings have successfully killed off 20 consecutive power-play chances.
Spark Plug Forward Tyler Shelast has recorded two goals this week. The two goals by Shelast represents 33.3% of the forwards total goals (six) scored this season.
End of the Road Today will conclude the K-Wings season-long five-game road swing. Kalamazoo, who is 3-1-0-0 on the trip, has gone 6-2-0-0 on the road in the month of February.
