Game Preview For the second-time in less than 24 hours, the Kalamazoo Wings will lace up their skates against the Orlando Solar Bears. Last night, the Solar Bears defeated the K-Wings 4-2 from the Amway Center. After today, the teams will meet once more in the regular season, Tuesday night in Orlando.
Starting a four-game road swing with a loss, the K-Wings have now dropped two straight games on the road. The two-game setback is the longest road losing streak this season for the K-Wings. With 14 points, Kalamazoo is in fourth place in the North Division.
This afternoon is the middle game of a three-game home stand for Orlando, who is 4-2-1-1 at the Amway Center. With a win last night, the Solar Bears now have 17 points and are in sole possession of third place in the South Division.

It’s been a While Last night’s game against the Orlando Solar Bears was the first against a team from Orlando, since April 16, 2000, when the K-Wings defeated the Solar Bears 3-2 in a shootout from the Orlando Arena, when the teams were members of the International Hockey League. All-time, the K-Wings are 10-9-6 against the Solar Bears.
Falling Behind It hasn’t been good for the K-Wings when their opponents score the game’s first goal. Kalamazoo is 0-4-0-0 when their opponent is the first to register on the scoreboard.
Rolling Along Defensemen Sam Ftorek and Elgin Reid enter the game looking to extend streaks. Ftorek is riding a six-game point streak, while Reid has earned points in four straight games.
Clarke Nears Milestone Forward Aaron Clarke is closing in a personal milestone. Clarke needs one more goal to reach 100 in his career.
