Game Preview The preseason auditions come to end tonight, as the Kalamazoo Wings travel to Huntington Center to battle the Toledo Walleye. Toledo won the first half of the home-and-home series with a 5-4 overtime victory last night at the Borgess Rink at Wings West.
Despite being the three-time North Division champs, Kalamazoo hasn’t had much success in the preseason. Since joining the ECHL in 2009, the K-Wings are 2-4-1-0 in the preseason and are winless in their last four games (0-3-1-0), all against the Walleye.
The Walleye showed they are resilient yesterday by erasing two three-goal deficits. After starting the game 0-for-5 on the power-play, Toledo went 2-for-4 with the man-advantage in the final four attempts, which included the game-winning tally from Nikita Poliakov.
