COUNTDOWN TO FACE-OFF

Kalamazoo Wings Vs Chicago Express

Game Preview
Division rivals will square-off at Wings Stadium, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Chicago Express. This is the second meeting this week between the teams. Chicago defeated Kalamazoo 4-3 last Sunday. On the season, Kalamazoo is 4-3-0-1 versus Chicago and 3-1-0-0 in games played at Wings Stadium.

Concluding a four-game home stand this evening, the K-Wings have gone 1-1-0-1 during the stand thus far. Kalamazoo starts the night in first place in the North Division, 10 points ahead of the Cincinnati Cyclones, who are in second and 12 points in front of the Express

The last time the Express laced up their skates it was Sunday afternoon at Wings Stadium, when Chicago snapped a five-game (0-4-1-0) winless streak with an impressive 4-3 victory over Kalamazoo. Tyler Donati leads the Express offensive arsenal with 59 points on the season.

Silver Lining
Forwards Trent Daavettila and Justin Taylor will have a different look to their uniform. Both players will be wearing a silver crest, as part of the ECHL’s Silver Skater Program, presented by The Meigray Group.

AHL Bound
Earlier today, defenseman Joe Charlebois was loaned to the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters. Charlebois, who was loaned to the Manchester Monarchs earlier this season, is the 14th member of the K-Wings to be called-up to the AHL.  

Heating Up
Forward Kory Karlander has earned points in four straight games. The four-game point streak is the longest current point streak by a member of the K-Wings.

Breaking Away
Last Sunday, the K-Wings were awarded their seventh penalty shot of the season in a 4-3 loss to Chicago. The seven attempts (1-for-7) are the most of any team in the ECHL.
